We are called to serve others by showing God’s love in practical ways, meeting the needs within our church and communities. One of the ways we grow as disciples is finding ways to use our gifts and talents to glorify God by serving others.

We want to help every person find the right opportunities to effectively use their gifts to build up the body of Christ! There are options for every skill set, season, and schedule. Contact us to chat more about where you can serve.

Current Opportunities

  • We want to be a church that is ready and willing to come alongside foster families to pray and care for them as they care for the vulnerable. If you’re interested in partnering with Project Belong to provide support for our church’s foster families such as short-term childcare during appointments and errands or bringing a meal to church on Sunday, please email Chelsea Custer (chelsea@capitalpresfairfax.org).

  • Our Congregational Nursery Rotation is the commitment of all church members (ages 22–72) to serve in the nursery on a schedule managed by Children’s Ministry staff.

    Our church community is a covenant family—membership in our church is a promise to love and serve one another. One practical way we do this is by looking after the littlest and loudest ones among us! Gently caring for one another’s children gives every parent the opportunity to fully engage in worship, resting in the knowledge that their kids are being kept safe and being shown Jesus.

Local & Global Partners

  • The Lamb Center

    The Lamb Center serves the poor and homeless, transforms lives, and shares God’s love to people in Fairfax County. Counseling is the core program and encompasses spiritual, psychological, life and employment dimensions.

    They many free services including hot meals, hot showers, laundry services, resume assistance, haircuts, legal assistance, transportation, and much more. Clients are encouraged to seek God’s plan, deal with addictions, overcome obstacles and find employment.

  • Young Life Capernaum

    Young Life is all about introducing students to Christ, and invites young people of all abilities to experience life as God designed it to be lived. Young Life Capernaum Fairfax is a ministry for teens and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

  • Romanian Christian Enterprises (RCE)

    Romanian Christian Enterprises (RCE) brings help and hope through the gospel to the poor, the oppressed, the widow and the orphan in Romania to the glory of God and the advancement of his kingdom. This mission is accomplished through micro-economic development to strengthen poor families and prevent abandonment, domestic adoption for orphans, and recuperative group homes for abandoned children with special needs.

  • Reformed University Fellowship International (RUF-I) at George Mason University

    Led by Matthew DeLong, Reformed University Fellowship International (RUF-I) seeks to reflect God’s grace to the international community at George Mason University. RUF International exists to welcome scholars from all nations, encourage them to explore the way of Jesus Christ, and equip them to be servant leaders for God’s kingdom.

  • Project Belong

    Project Belong inspires, recruits, and resources churches and families in Virginia to foster and adopt, in order to spread the love of Christ to children in crisis.

    Believing the Church is the hope of the national foster care and adoption crisis, Project Belong equips Northern Virginia’s churches to impact the foster care system with the hope of Christ. They unite churches with organizations, government agencies, and businesses so that no child is waiting for a home in Northern Virginia.

  • The Fellows Initiative

    A national network of 30 church-based fellows programs and 280 fellows, including the Capital Pres Family’s Capital Fellows.
